FUNDING AND DEVELOPMENT

Apply Now - Main Grants

We welcome applications from all charities and groups who meet our aims. We encourage all applicants to contact the Trust Manager to discuss your eligibility and project before applying.

Multiyear grants are available to groups who have previously received funding from the trust. However, in any one year the trust is only able to support a small amount of the multiyear requests it receives. If you want to apply for a multiyear grant, you must contact the Trust Manager before applying.

Before you apply, please check that you are eligible. Please make sure you can say ‘yes’ to the following questions:

  • Is your group a registered charity/pursuing charitable purposes? If you are not a registered charity, can you provide a copy of your governing document
  • Does your project or work take place in Westmorland?
  • Does your project meet the priority areas of the Trust?
  • Can you provide a copy of your last audited/signed accounts and most recent bank statement?
  • Do you have 3 separate quotes for capital projects?
  • For multi-year applications – Have you contacted the Trust Manager?

Please note when clicking APPLY NOW it will open a new browser window.

We have an online application process. The application form asks for details about your organisation, activities, beneficiaries, and the project budget. To help you plan your application, you can view a summary of the questions HERE.

We also ask for the following supporting information with your application.

  • All Applicants - Annual Accounts
  • For organisations who are not a registered charity - A copy of your governing document (for example your rules or constitution).
  • For capital projects - Where possible we ask for three separate quotes.

The next application deadline for Main Grants is 31st January 2025.

All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application within two months of the closing date.

We have a simple, one stage application process. Just click the ‘apply here’ link and you will be taken to the right place to start your application.

You will need to complete each question and attach the documents requested before final submission.

You can save the application as you go, but we recommend keeping a version of your responses for your own records as you won’t be able to access the form once it is submitted.

After you have submitted your application, you will be sent an acknowledgement email. A member of our team will then contact within a week of submission. If you do not receive either of these emails, please contact us to ensure your application has been received.

We are happy to review a draft application and can provide a word version of the application form for you to complete. Please email the Trust Manager (manager@frieda-scott.org.uk) to request a copy of the form. We will try our best to provide feedback on draft applications, but must receive these at least two weeks before the published deadline date. Please note, we provide general guidance and feedback only to help you present a clear application. Every application is subject to the same final review and assessment process.

If submitting an online application is difficult for you, please contact us. We are happy to discuss whether we can make any reasonable adjustments to the process.

We will let every applicant know the outcome of their application, whether successful or not. For applicants who are not successful, we are happy to provide you with feedback.
